Auditions for admission to the International Youth Orchestra Study Group summer workshop and festival can be accessed and performed throughout the year.
To participate in a workshop/festival study season, you must be at least 10 and not older than 19 as of the opening date of the workshop.
All applicants should be exceptionally talented students who already have substantial musical training
Rehearsals will be held daily during the scheduled days of the camp. These rehearsals will be held in designated facilities within the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in center city Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Each morning will begin with a session on theory. The students of each section of the orchestra will receive a dedicated schedule for their training. All sections will join in a full orchestra rehearsal at the end of each afternoon. During the day, master classes will be held and ensemble groups will be constructed.
As a student accepted by audition to join like student-musicians at an International Youth Orchestra Study Group Workshop and Festival, you will be part of our full festival season concert plans. These plans allow for you to participate in an unparalleled training and study opportunity. You will perform challenging repertoire under the direction of Maestro Jae-Joon Lee.
The international Youth Orchestra Study Group enthusiastically encourages applications from musicians of all cultural backgrounds.
