Practice facilities are located at the prestigious Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in center city Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Constructed from a design by internationally respected architect Rafael Viñoly, the Center is the home of the world famous Philadelphia Orchestra as well as several other performing groups. Opened in 2001, The Kimmel Center, Inc, is an international leader in the performing arts that enriches lives and creates community through its mission. One of its missions is to champion access to the arts through education and community programming.
The mission of the International Youth Orchestra Study Group, Inc. embraces that mission and regards its program for youth as a vital part of its relationship with the Center
There will be Master Classes for all musicians. Studio classes (teaching technique, style and interpretation) are an important and key component of the entire workshop and festival. All instruments will come together to form the festival orchestra at the end of each day and will rehearse a program designed and conducted by the Artistic Director, Maestro Jae-Joon Lee.
